Obituary for Reuben N. Swanson

Reuben Nolan Swanson
April 3, 1944-July 7, 2019

Reuben was born April 3, 1944 in River Falls, Wisconsin. His family lived in Roberts WI until he was in middle school then moved to Centuria, WI and he graduated from Unity High School. On August 3, 1963 he married Bonita Lee, his high school sweetheart. In 1965 They purchased an 80 acre farm southeast of Eureka where they raised their 5 Children, Brent, Brad, Brenda, Becky and Briana.

Reuben was employed for many years at Champion Aircraft in Osceola, and also worked at the Centuria Lumberyard, Milligan Implement, and had a Carpentry Business with his brother Ozzie. In the late 70’s he became a full time dairy farmer which and eventually retired when the Dairy Industry struggled in the 90’s. Even after he sold his cows and stopped dairy farming, Reuben worked for Nelson’s Greenhouse and continued his work outside which was always his favorite place to be.

Reuben was often a quiet man who didn’t have a lot to say unless it was very wise or very sarcastic. He enjoyed collecting anything John Deere and was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, woodworking, keeping a nice yard and spending time with Family. He was a very proud father and grandfather and loved having his family all together for Holidays and Celebrations.
