Melvin R. Landin of Osceola formerly of Mabel, MN died Monday July 12th at St. Croix Good Samaritan at the age of 91. Melvin was born December 14, 1918 at North Branch, MN to Ed and Emma Landin. He attended rural schools in the North branch area. He served in the US Army during WWII. On January 21, 1961 he married his wife Dorothy at Rochester MN. He owned and operated the Landin Body Shop in Mabel for many years. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golf, travel tinkering, and was a "Mr. Fixit". Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Elmer, sister Valerie Dietrich and grandson Wade Foss. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Dorothy, children Ronald of Brainerd, Judith Foss of Inver Grove Heights, Debra (Jim) Casterton of St. Croix Falls, grandchildren Troy, Mark, shad, Cass, Rachel, Josiah, Noah, several Great-Grandchildren, brothers Vernon (Agatha) of Rogers, MN., Reuben (Agnes) of Hanover, MN, Archie of Isanti, sisters Angela Mutka of Mpls., Mary Henrikson of Cedar, MN, sister-in-law Ardell Landin of Mpls., numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials: Memorials suggested to the Amercan Cancer Society or First Lutheran Church Visitation: Visitation 5 to 7 PM Thursday July 15th at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola and one hour prior to the service at church on Friday
