She was born November 29, 1943 in Caledonia, Minnesota, to parents Philip and Nan Grandstrand. Phyllis grew up in Chisago City and graduated from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She married David (Homer) Johnson in 1967 and spent their lives together farming in Center City, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband David, and brother David Grandstrand, and survived by her two children Nathan Johnson and Nena (Owen) Kuhnly, grandchildren Dalton and Danielle Kuhnly, brother Charles (Dorothy) Grandstrand, and companion Dale Dockham. Memorials: Memorials can be directed to the Good Samaritan Society, St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Visitation: Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Service: Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Cemetery: Private family interment at later date. |
